Tyrone Turner (Washington, DC). Tyrone is a freelance photographer who has traveled throughout the world covering social and environmental issues. For two years he lived in Brazil, where he photographed and wrote about youth issues, producing an award-winning photo essay on glue-addicted street children in Recife. As a contributing photographer for National Geographic Magazine, he has shot stories on Louisiana’s disappearing wetlands, the increasing threat of hurricanes, the coast of the United States, the post-Katrina rebuilding of New Orleans and the March 2009 cover story on energy conservation.
