Pam Fessler (Washington). Pam is a correspondent on NPR’s Washington desk, where she covers poverty and philanthropy issues. Her pieces air on “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered” and other NPR programs. Since joining NPR in 1993, she has also been homeland security correspondent, White House reporter, acting senior editor on the Washington desk, deputy Washington editor and Midwest National Desk editor. Earlier in her career she was a senior writer at Congressional Quarterly, a budget specialist at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and a reporter for The Record (Hackensack, N.J.).
