Mike Celizic (New York City). Mike is a freelance columnist, an author and a regular online contributor to NBCSports.com and NBC’s "Today" show. A onetime bureau chief in the New Jersey Statehouse, he became a sportswriter in 1983 with The Record of Hackensack, N.J. and began his career as a columnist a year later. He has covered every Summer Olympics since 1984 as well as every major American sporting event. He won a first place for columns from the Associated Press Sports Editors and New Jersey Press Association awards for news reporting from the Mideast as well as for sports features and columns.
