Matea Gold (New York). Matea is a television media correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. She has been based in the New York bureau since 2005. She joined the paper in 1997, and has reported on gangs, poverty and immigration in East Los Angeles. For five years she was a political reporter, covering Los Angeles City Hall, California’s 2003 gubernatorial recall election and two presidential campaigns.
