Maggie Farley

Maggie Farley (Washington). Maggie is a former Los Angeles Times correspondent. After joining the Times in 1995, she opened the paper’s Hong Kong and Shanghai bureaus, reporting on Hong Kong’s 1997 handover to China and the Asian economic crisis. She moved to New York in 1999 to cover the United Nations and Canada. She won the U.N.Correspondents’ Association Gold Medal in 2003 for reporting on the diplomatic wrangling preceding the U.S.-led Iraq invasion, and in 2007 for coverage of Sudan’s intractable crisis.
