Lori Aratani (Washington). Lori is a general assignment reporter on the metropolitan desk of The Washington Post, covering health issues, youth culture and general news. In 2007 she was selected as a visiting fellow by the Japan Press Foundation and spent two weeks in Japan researching and writing articles about immigrants and agricultural issues. Before joining the Post in 2005, she was a reporter at the San Jose Mercury News for 15 years.
