Lam Thuy Vo

Lam Thuy Vo (New York). Lam is a freelance multimedia journalist who previously headed video operations for The Wall Street Journal in Asia. Stories she has covered include the state of China’s property market, the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, and North Korea’s shelling of South Korea’s Yeonpyeong island, and she has produced a number of multimedia projects. She has also trained dozens of print reporters in multi-platform storytelling both at the Journal and at regional conferences.  She won a Society of American Business Editors and Writers Award in 2011 for her examination of China’s housing market and a Webby in 2009 for a report on a Burmese refugee newly arrived in New York. In August 2011 she was selected by the Online News Association as an MJ Bear Fellow, recognizing innovation in online news by journalists under 30 years of age.
