John Martin (Washington). John is editor and publisher of GovManagement, a website and daily e-mail newsletter focusing on management in the public sector. He was the managing editor of Governing magazine from its launch in 1987 until this year and in 1996 created the magazine’s website, which he edited and managed. Previously, he was state editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, held several editing and reporting positions in Chapel Hill, N.C., and was night city editor and statehouse editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He has edited two books on government management.
