Greg Toppo (Washington). Greg is the national K-12 education reporter for USA Today. Before joining the paper in 2002, he was a reporter with Associated Press, first in Baltimore and then in Washington, where he was the wire service’s national K-12 education writer. He started in journalism at The Santa Fe New Mexican. Previously, he taught in public and private schools for eight years.
