Dennis Shannon (Washington). Dennis is a videojournalist for CBS News. He joined the network in 1977 and worked for the “CBS Evening News” for 15 years eventually becoming a technical director. He also has worked as a technician for CBS Sports covering NFL and NBA games. As a cameraman, Dennis has traveled around the world shooting both disasters (including 15 hurricanes) and triumphs. He has shot footage of every president since Gerald R. Ford—and recorded a rare sighting of Richard M. Nixon at an event in 1978—and has worked at every national political convention since 1988.
