David Gonzalez (New York). David is a reporter on the metropolitan desk of The New York Times and has written the bi-weekly "Citywide" feature since 2004. Since joining the Times’ staff in 1990, he has also served as Caribbean and Central America bureau chief, author of the "About New York" column and Bronx bureau chief. He previously was a correspondent for Newsweek and worked for non-profit agencies in New York’s Latino and African-American communities.
