David D. Kirkpatrick (Washington). David is a Washington correspondent for the New York Times and a contributor to the New York Times magazine. His assignments have included long biographies of Senator John McCain during the 2008 presidential race, the lobbying industry, Congress, the conservative movement, religion and politics, the media industry, and the book business. He previously worked as a contributing editor at New York magazine and a reporter for the Wall Street Journal.
