David D. Kirkpatrick

David D. Kirkpatrick (Cairo). David is the Cairo bureau chief for the New York Times.  Formerly he was the paper’s Washington correspondent and a contributor to the New York Times magazine. His assignments have included long biographies of Senator John McCain during the 2008 presidential race, the lobbying industry, Congress, the conservative movement, religion and politics, the media industry, and the book business. Before joining the Times in 2000, he worked as a contributing editor at New York magazine and a reporter for the Wall Street Journal.
