Executive Director
Brenda Butler is the executive director of Columbia Links, a skills-building journalism program, based at Columbia College Chicago, for students and teachers in the Chicago public schools. She joined the program in January 2010 after spending more than 15 years at the Chicago Tribune, where she held numerous editing positions, including senior features editor of the Chicago Tribune Magazine and associate managing editor for features. She previously was an editor at Jet Magazine. In 1998, Brenda produced, wrote and moderated “Playback: Views from an African-American Perspective,” a 13-week series for Chicago cable television. She is a member and former chapter president of the National Association of Black Journalists.
