Barbara Slavin (Washington).  Barbara is the former assistant managing editor for national and international security at the Washington Times. Before joining the paper in 2008, she spent 12 years as senior diplomatic reporter at USA Today.  She was a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in 2006 and a Jennings Randolph Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace from October 2007 to July 2008.  She is the author of Bitter Friends, Bosom Enemies: Iran, the U.S. and the Twisted Path to Confrontation, published in 2007.
