Roy is president of the educational foundation associated with the American Society of Business Publication Editors. He reported for The Wall Street Journal for 23 years, including six years as its deputy bureau chief in Los Angeles. After becoming senior editor of Boston-based CFO Magazine, then owned by The Economist Group, he went on to edit the website CFOworld.com. He is author of "Pulitzer's Gold", a book examining how teams of reporters have won nearly a century of Pulitzer Prizes for Public Service. He appears once a month on Boston public-television media criticism program "Beat the Press."
