Liz Ramos

Liz Ramos teaches history and U.S. government at Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., where she has worked since 2005. As an active integrator of technology to help students seek out information and create demonstrations of their learning, she emphasizes media and digital literacies with her students and participates in various Twitter communities and Computer Using Educator events with other educators. She began using NLP’s checkology® virtual classroom in 2016 — first with her remedial students during the summer and then with her college prep and AP government students in the fall — and shared its benefits for both classes at the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) annual conference in December 2016. She served on NLP’s strategic plan steering committee and is leading a teacher workshop about the virtual classroom at the NCSS conference in November 2017.
